Green Artist-In-ResidencyThe world is currently facing a critical situation with alarming changes in nature and our environment. Biodiversity is disappearing, air and water sources are increasingly polluted, sea levels are rising, and extreme weather phenomena are escalating. To address these issues, the Cultural & Artistic Responses to Environmental Change program seeks to inspire and motivate artists and cultural practitioners to envision alternative models of climate justice in the world. The program is open to Rwandan artists and cultural practitioners from across the country. We aim to support critical and unconventional work by mid-career and professional artists working on a range of issues related to the global commons, environmentalism, the climate crisis, and climate justice. This program will take place at Northern Creative Corner Residence (inclusive of meals and accommodation) from 15th-30th may in Musanze District, known for its beautiful natural scenery, lush giant volcanoes, and unique culture. Musanze district provides an inspiring environment for the participants to create and interact with nature. and the works that will be created during the residence will be exhibited on 5th June for the occasion of World international Environment day.
